As a professional counselor, I found that most people are seeking peace and happiness. People expect that their home will be a source of comfort. For many it is not. I want to help change this.

From early childhood I had an idea that something about how a setting was designed or built would affect a person's experience in that space. After years of searching for a body of knowledge that contained that wisdom including psychology, design and many world religions (you never know), I was fortunate to find the American University of Mayonic Science and Technology, the Chancellor Dr. Jessie Mercay and Vaastu!

This University, chartered by the late Dr. V. Ganapati Sthapati of Mamalapuram, Tamil Nadu, India, supports the study of the ancient texts (Vaastu Shastra, Pranava Veda and Aintiram) and the practice of authentic Vaastu. When Dr. Sthapati was awarded the Padam Bhushan recognition from the Prime Minister of India in 1999, it marked the beginning of the re-emergence and recognition of authentic Vaastu.

Dr. Jessie Mercay was born in upstate New York in 1945. She holds a PhDmst that was awarded in 2006 from the International Institute of Mayonic Science and Technology (India). This complements her first PhD from the University of Iowa. In January 2017, Dr. Mercay was recognized as Vaastu Rahtna, an honor never before conferred to a Western. This was in recognition for her contribution to her international advancement of Vaastu.
